I offer 7 or 11 day storm chasing tours to those with a flare for excitement and adventure!  This is not for the faint hearted as we get close to tornadoes and tornado warned supercells.  These supercell thunderstorms are twice as big as MT. Everest with rotation and attitude you can sink your teeth into!

BOOK YOUR TOUR WITH COMPLETE CONFIDENCE!!
If the weather pattern looks sunny and clear for your time frame, I will give you the choice to cancel or reschedule at no extra charge.   Your satisfaction is my goal!  If I wouldn't go, I don't expect you to go either.  If you don't go because of a sunny weather pattern, I offer you a money back guarantee!

St.LouisatNightMay26.jpg

Night Sky, St. Louis MO May 25.  Just a quick stop over to reach tornado alley which is to the west.  I wanted to stop at Pointer's Pizza to try the World famous 28" monster "Pointersaurus" but I didn't have time this trip.  It's US$42 dollars.  Maybe you will help me attack the monster on your tour?
Are you up for it?????

Morning Thunderstorm May 26 w/of St. Louis.  Time to head west over to tornado alley!  Image by Ron.

I also had to meet up with Videographer Field Specialist Mr. Geoff Lackner.  I was doing a few days of weather & lightning consulting work for Mr. Nicholas De Pencier of Mercury Films Inc, Toronto.

I am pleased to say that Geoff experienced lightning, dramatic scenes & severe weather on every day we worked together for the Documentary Film Production "Act of God"

Nick has won several awards: copy & paste this link http://www.mercuryfilms.ca/awards_only.html

I would like to thank Mr. Nicholas De Pencier of Mercury Films Inc. for the weather & lightning consulting opportunity for "Act of God"

Tornado Warning Pratt KS May 26.  Our first day in the alley.  I know it looks weak, but it is a very small brief tornado after all.  20 minutes later we got right in another tornado with wind speeds around 90 to 100mph.  The vans windshield was pitted by flying dirt, sand & gravel from the dirt road.

Geoff was behind us and he had the vans both side doors open when we took the direct hit.  Got his blood pressure up a bit!

ChildressTXT-StormInflowMay28.jpg

Severe Thunderstorm Warning May 27 Childress TX.  This thunderstorm had an awesome beaver tail into the storms base identifying the low level feeder band right into the main storms updraft area.

ChildressT-StormCoreaMay28.jpg

Severe Thunderstorm Warning May 27 Childress TX.  This is the storms main updraft core.  Note how low to the ground it is. That is indicative of a low LCL or Lifted Condensation Level.  That tells me how close to the ground the thunderstorm base will be.

SanMiguelNMTornadoWarnedStorm.jpg

Tornado Warning San Miguel NM May 28.  This storm did have rotation couplets on it, but it was mostly elevated above the rotating Wall Cloud.  It was a powerful storm with 3" hail.  Jack Kertzie and I stayed just south of the hail core when I had 1 minute to grab this image of the rotating Wall Cloud.  Jack does vehicle graphics and magnetic signs and does a fantastic job.  Jack's web site is: http://jkstorm.com/

SanMiguelNMTornadoWarningGraphic.jpg

Tornado Warning San Miguel NM May 28.
This storm was rotating at 103MPH (165KPH).
But I prefer it at 125MPH (200KPH) or higher.
Stage 4 wind shear doesn't hurt either.
You can see Jack Kertzie and I south of the hail core.
(look for the little white car in the yellow circle)

KearneyNebraskaTornadicStormMay29.jpg

Tornado Warning Kearney NE May 29.  This was an awesome storm, but the tornado was rain wrapped making it almost impossible to see.  The city of Kearney took a direct hit from this 3/4 mile wide monster.  Jack and I approached the storm from the south looking north as it was traveling east near the interstate.  This is the safest way to observe severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and tornadic supercells.  Image by Ron

KearneyNebraskaTornadicCoreMay29.jpg

Tornado Warning Kearney NE May 29.  This storm had a 3/4 mile wide tornado in it.  I tried to get a shot of the storms core while Jack and I were heading east.  The residents of Kearney saw the storm coming, but it didn't look that bad, or so they thought.  Jack and I spoke to a few people and they all said the same thing: "It was raining, then all of a sudden "BAM!", the wind hit us.  We ran for cover under the stairs!"   Sorry for the crappy shot.
